As the Amethyst Academies Trust, we are immensely proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of the TWS Sports Podcast from Tettenhall Wood School on reaching its 100th episode. This exceptional podcast, hosted by our talented students Thomas, Alyssa, Jacob, and Mason, has not only captivated audiences but also significantly impacted the sports podcasting landscape.

Launched in 2021, the TWS Sports Podcast rapidly garnered acclaim, winning the Best Equality and Social Impact Award at the global Sports Podcast Awards within its first year. This accolade is a testament to the dedication, skill, and innovative approach of our students and the supporting staff at Tettenhall Wood School.

The journey of the TWS Sports Podcast is a shining example of the extraordinary capabilities of our students. The podcast has provided a platform for our students with autism, to explore their passions, develop new skills, and engage with a wide array of sports personalities. Their interviews with renowned figures like Damon Hill, Nasser Hussain, Paul Wallace, and Michael Atherton in cricket, football legends Joe Hart and Harry Redknapp, and even Rugby World Cup winning coach Sir Clive Woodward, highlight the exceptional opportunities this initiative has fostered.

The 100th episode, featuring a conversation with Wolverhampton Wanderers icon Steve Bull, is a milestone that underscores the exceptional growth and success of this project. We encourage everyone to experience this remarkable edition, available on the TWS Sports Podcast platform and their YouTube channel.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Adam Millichip, the outreach teacher, and all the students involved in this podcast for their relentless hard work, dedication, and for championing the positive message of autism awareness and acceptance. Your accomplishments resonate deeply with our mission at Amethyst Academies Trust, exemplifying our commitment to enabling every individual to thrive and excel.

To Councillor Jacqui Coogan and the City of Wolverhampton Council, we express our gratitude for recognising the innovative spirit of Tettenhall Wood School and its pupils. Your encouragement is invaluable as we look forward to the podcast’s future contributions and successes.

In closing, we celebrate this momentous occasion and eagerly anticipate the next 100 episodes. The TWS Sports Podcast is not just a triumph for Tettenhall Wood School, but for the entire Amethyst Academies Trust, as it embodies our core values of ambition, excellence, and community engagement. Congratulations to everyone involved in this outstanding achievement!
